"My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them... Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it." — Proverbs 1:10-19

Crime: A One-Way Ticket to Nowhere 🚨🚷

Let’s be real—nobody wakes up one morning and suddenly decides, “Today feels like a great day to become a criminal!” Nah, it’s never that straightforward. There are always reasons (or should we say excuses? 🙄) that lead people down that dark alley.

Maybe it’s the hunger for quick money 💰💨. Maybe it’s peer pressure (“All my guys are cashing out, why should I be left behind?” 🤷‍♂️). Maybe it’s the need to belong—to feel like part of something powerful 💪. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because a life of honesty and patience feels slow 🐢 while criminals are out there flaunting their wealth on Instagram 📸.

But here’s the thing—ill-gotten wealth is like Jollof rice 🍛 cooked without seasoning. It might look good, but one taste and you realize it’s all wrong! 🤢

Fast Money, Faster Destruction 💸🔥

The Bible does not sugarcoat it: “These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves!” (Proverbs 1:18). Translation? The people running after crime are digging their own graves—with extra speed 🏃‍♂️⚰️.

Yes, society warns against street gangs, but guess what? Some people hear that warning and decide, “Okay, no violent crime, let me just do white-collar fraud instead.” So instead of carrying guns 🔫, they carry laptops 💻 and dream up the next Ponzi scheme. Instead of snatching bags in traffic 🏍️, they sit in air-conditioned offices signing fake contracts 📝. And let’s not forget the “big men” in government 🏛️ who siphon billions meant for roads, schools, and hospitals 🏥—only for the roads to remain death traps, the schools to be empty, and the hospitals to have no medicine 💊.

But the truth remains the same—fraud, scam, robbery, political looting—same consequence, different method. 🚨

And let’s not even get started on the "Yahoo boys" 🦅 who think they’re too smart to get caught. One minute they’re throwing money in clubs 🍾, the next minute EFCC is parading them on the news 📺. Crime is a one-way street, and the destination is always regret. 😞

The Real Cure for the Crime Epidemic ✝️❤️

See, the issue isn’t just about crime. The problem is sin—that thing inside the human heart 💔 that makes us crave what we shouldn’t have. Sin is what makes people choose greed over godliness 💰>🙏, selfishness over service, and fraud over faithfulness. And guess what? Education 📚 and social programs 🏢 are great, but they don’t solve the real problem.

Because no matter how much you wash a pig 🐷, if you leave it near a muddy puddle, it will jump right back in! 🏊‍♂️😂

The only real solution? Jesus Christ.

  • He cleanses our hearts 🧼, not just our reputations.
  • He gives true peace ☮️—not the temporary high of crime.
  • He fills our lives with meaning ✨, so we don’t go chasing after things that won’t last.

Fear of the Lord > Fear of Police 🚔✊

At the end of the day, the real foundation of moral living is not “Don’t do crime because you’ll get caught.” The real foundation is the fear of the Lord. 🙏

When you fear God, you don’t need the threat of prison 🚨 to behave. When you love God ❤️, you won’t need a judge ⚖️ to tell you that fraud, violence, and greed are bad. Instead, you’ll live a life that pleases Him, not because you’re scared of punishment, but because you’ve been changed from the inside out.

So, my dear friend, when the world tells you, “Come, let’s do this deal, it’s quick money, nobody will know...” Just remember: crime might pay for a while, but it always collects interest—and the price is never worth it. 💀💸

Choose wisdom. Choose righteousness. Choose Jesus. 🙌🔥
